ECONOMIC SYMPOSIUM
On October 13, 2009, the "New & Existing Business Symposium: Outlook on
Central Pennsylvania's Future" was held in State College and was keynoted by
Glenn "GT" Thompson, Pennsylvania's Fifth District in the U.S. House of
Representatives. Thompson, who is a member of the the House Agriculture,
Education and Labor, and Small Business Committee told attendees that
within the17 Pennsylvania county representative district that he represents, Centre County happens
to be top county in Pennsylvania with the lowest unemployment, while two
others of his district are at the ranked at having the highest unemployment.
With that economic dichotomy, Glenn Thompson and the other six members
